Nanyuki Sports Club
Situated in Rift Valley Kenya, the Nanyuki Sports Club was established in 1926.
The low rambling building overlooks a beautiful golf course with a really spectacular view up to the peaks on a clear day, and the small adobe rondavels and cottages, though simple and with floral curtains that look as though they’ve seen better days, are comfortable and clean.
The club acts as a bit of a social centre for the surrounding farming area and the bar is a magnet for all sorts of local characters in the evening.
There are squash and tennis courts which are used occasionally and the British Army still has a camp here and have been known to 'beat the retreat’ in full get-up on the golf course.
The club acts as a good one-night stop for a Mt Kenya climb or to break the journey to Samburu but there is not a lot to do here (unless of course you are a keen golfer).
